MIGRATION PATTERN
The earliest that I could track our Wilson/Willson ancestors to was about 1600. It's practically impossible to go any further back because his name was John Willson and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of John Willsons from England during that period that I don't even know where to begin to search.
The ancestors from England could very possibly have migrated there from Scotland or Ireland. Many people went to England, back then, to find work. Click on the tab "ORIGIN OF WILLSON/WILSON NAME" to find out more.
You will also see that the Wilson name was spelled with two "L's" back then, but later on, one "L" was dropped.
Here are the names of our grandparents down to Johnson Wilson who came to Fannin County, GA between 1850 - 1860.
NOTE: The first George Wilson you will see is where the first "L" was dropped from our line. It was very common for families to change the spellings of their names back then for different reasons.
