(Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)In a world largely devoid of live sports, it is understandable that the excitement is palpable for this year’s NFL Draft, scheduled to kick off on Thursday, April 23. And it’s obviously a big deal. But of even greater import, both to Ravens fans and admirers of all things brilliant across these fruited plains, this stands as my final mock draft of the 2020 NFL Mock Draft Season.



With that in mind, I went to NFL Mock Draft Database and used their mock draft simulator to see what options might be available for the Ravens come draft day. In this mock draft, I went with the best option remaining on their big board at outside linebacker, inside linebacker and wide receiver regardless of who else was available or where I might have them rated personally. It led to a bunch of really great picks that fit well but also some head-scratching picks too.Queen is that guy and getting him at the end of the first round is one of Baltimore’s best scenarios. Queen is a smart player with good instincts and can lead, which is something Onwuasor struggled with last season, leading to his demotion from the starting role. While not the biggest linebacker in the world, the Ravens boosting the beef in the trenches should allow him to use his speed and agility to scrape around and make plays all over the field.Let’s take a look at which prospects I was handed and do some quick analysis on them.The first big wave of free agency is over in the NFL. Teams have picked over the top options available to them and a bunch of trades have taken place to fill immediate needs. While there will be plenty of more signings to happen between now and the 2020 NFL Draft, it isn’t likely to really affect how most teams are going to pick.
That’s certainly the case for the Baltimore Ravens, who have used free agency and trades to revamp their defensive line but haven’t addressed any of their other needs thus far. That gives us a really good idea of what Baltimore will be targeting once they’re on the clock in the first three rounds.One of Baltimore’s biggest remaining needs is at inside linebacker. Though the Ravens are back in talks with Patrick Onwuasor to potentially return, they’ll need to find a long-term option in the middle of their defense. With how little Baltimore uses their base package, finding a rangy inside linebacker who can cover and still stuff the run is pretty important unless the Ravens want to rotate guys in and out to fill the role.Photo by Kevin C. Queen is an immediate starter in Baltimore and could very well be one of the final pieces of a historically good defense.

The Redskins' offensive line and receiving corps are crumbling around Alex Smith, which is putting a ton of pressure on their defense to keep from wearing down. They can stop the inside run, but Tampa Bay doesn't bother with that much. The Bucs will go to work downfield against Washington’s overmatched secondary. PICK: Buccaneers win 30-23 and cover the spread.The Patriots will see some familiar faces, as Jon Robinson, Mike Vrabel, Dean Pees, Malcolm Butler and Dion Lewis all work for the opposite side. They hope to be a little healthier on offense with Sony Michel and Rob Gronkwoski, but if not, Tom Brady will find the right matchups in a spread passing game. The running of Marcus Mariota and Lewis can keep the Titans hanging around, but New England will exploit Butler for a couple key scoring plays to stay ahead. PICK: Patriots win 30-21.The Packers desperately need a victory at Lambeau Field to stay in the NFC playoff hunt. Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin gets to coach against his former team and knows Aaron Rodgers will be in a comfort zone throwing all over the field. Miami will try to hang around, but eventually, Green Bay will pull away after multiple mistakes by Brock Osweiler. PICK: Packers win 31-14 and cover the spread.The Chiefs are unstoppable on offense at the moment with perfect playmaking symmetry between Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt. The Cardinals will feature better offense around Josh Rosen after their bye, but ultimately, this will be too hostile a road environment for the rookie QB. PICK: Chiefs win 38-14 and cover the spread.Sunday 1 p.m., Fox.
Sunday 8:20 p.m., NBC.Thursday 8:20 p.m., Fox.Sunday 1 p.m., Fox.The Bears are good at beating up on bad teams outside of their division, but their struggles to power run the ball and issues in the secondary will allow the Lions to make this game too close for comfort at Soldier Field. Matthew Stafford is trending downward all of a sudden, however, and won’t be able to complete the comeback. PICK: Bears win 24-20 but fail to cover the spread.
Sunday 1 p.m., CBS.Sunday 1 p.m., CBS.With Leonard Fournette likely returning, the Jaguars are hoping to become the dominant team they thought they would be this season. But it’s hard to imagine Fournette being forced into a big workload right away, and the Jags' concerns against the Colts go way beyond the running back. Blake Bortles has not played well on the road, and their good pass defense can be neutralized by Andrew Luck getting the ball out quickly. Season-Long Standings :Molly Geary picks Maryland : This matchup has long had "Trap Game" flashing in neon lights over it (though, at this point, the Vegas line actually favors Maryland). A ranked Syracuse team is a week away from hosting No. 1 Clemson, at night, during homecoming, with fans hoping a 2–0 start would produce a first-ever visit from College GameDay . But first, the Orange have a trip to College Park. The Terps are rebuilding under new coach Mike Locksley, but they have real offensive talent led by QB Josh Jackson and RB Anthony McFarland and some key transfers on defense. These agents also invest heavily into their clients' draft preparation but do not receive a commission on their rookie contracts, even if their client signs for the full 120%.
