My name is Patrycia Boggs Arnold. I'm Vernon Boggs' daughter who was the son of Bessie Wilson, born in Fannin Co., GA in 1891. She was the daughter of Burton Horace Greely "Babe" Wilson. "Babe" was the son of Johnson Wilson who was the first of our Wilsons to live in Fannin County, Georgia.
I have been digging into the roots of our family since 1990 and have found out a lot of genealogy through census records either online or in archives in court houses and libraries. I have gotten information such as names and dates directly from family members. I have heard a lot of stories from some of the older family members through the years and have gathered history from recorded documents. I have acquired only a few copies of death certificates and found information on those.
I grew up living right next door to my grandmother and I never asked her any questions about her family. I'm still kicking myself to this day for not doing that. There are two reasons I began this project. The first was that I was very interested in who and where our ancestors were. The second reason was that if anyone else decided to find our Wilson roots, it would make it easier for them if they could begin with the information that I found and go from there. I made this website for that reason and I'm asking you to please send this to any family member that you have an email address for. Share this with all of them!
