SOME OF THE PRE-FANNIN COUNTY WILSONS

 Below: JOHN ALEXANDER WILSON

(husband of Sarah Elizabeth Stout - also pictured below)
During the Civil War his sympathies were with the Union.  He was a member of the first county court in 1836 in Johnson County, TN which probably met in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  He died in 1881 and he and his wife are buried on the hill nearby, now a public burying place known as "The Wilson Cemetery".

Below: SARAH ELIZABETH STOUT WILSON
married John Alexander Wilson (pictured above) on April 1, 1866.  She was born in 1843, the daughter of David M. Stout and Sallie Shoun.  The Stouts and Wilsons were among the earliest settlers of Eastern Tennessee.
